International Women’s Day (IWD)

#IWD2020  is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women – while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality.

The first IWD occurred in 1911, supported by over one million people. Today, International Women’s Day belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. International Women’s Day is not country, group or organization specific.

The IWD 2020 campaign theme is drawn from a notion of ‘Collective Individualism’, where we are all parts of a whole, represented by the #EachforEqual. An equal world is an enabled world.

Individually, we are all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world.

Equality is not a women’s issue, it’s a business issue.

Gender equality is essential for economies and communities to thrive. The race is on for the gender equal boardroom, a gender equal government, gender equal media coverage, gender equal workplaces, gender equal sports coverage, more gender equality in health and wealth.

Strike the #EachforEqual pose

In support of IWD 2020, Ashlynwood is proud to strike the #EachforEqual pose to motivate others to act and share responsibility for creating a gender equal world.

#EachforEqual is not just for one day

Ashlynwood strongly believes that gender equality is not just for one day but should be an ongoing aim of all organisations to ensure not only gender equality but equality for all.
